Enbase Hub with Ethernet & Wi-Fi Local Access

Learn how Ethernet and Wi-Fi connections provide local access to the Enbase Hub for configuration, diagnostics, maintenance, and device management.

Overview

Ethernet and Wi-Fi provide local access to the Enbase Hub for configuration, diagnostics, maintenance, and device management. These interfaces allow authorized users to connect directly to the Hub and access the Enbase Hub Control Panel.

Unlike Cellular or Satellite communication, Ethernet and Wi-Fi are not used to transmit operational data between the Enbase Hub and the Detechtion platform. Their purpose is to provide local connectivity for setup and service activities.

Key Capabilities

Ethernet and Wi-Fi allow authorized users to:

  • Access the Enbase Hub Control Panel
  • Configure communication settings
  • Perform diagnostics
  • Monitor device health
  • Update software and firmware
  • Perform local maintenance

            How Local Access Works

A computer or supported device connects directly to the Enbase Hub using either an Ethernet connection or Wi-Fi (when supported). Once connected, authorized users can access the Hub Control Panel to manage and maintain the device.

Ethernet and Wi-Fi do not replace LTE or Satellite communications and are not intended for continuous remote communication with the Detechtion platform.

When to Use Ethernet or Wi-Fi

            • Initial Hub configuration
            • Local troubleshooting
            • Software and firmware updates
            • Communication configuration
            • Routine maintenance
            • Device diagnostics

                        Best Practices

                        • Use Ethernet or Wi-Fi only for local access and maintenance.
                        • Follow approved network and security practices.
                        • Disconnect local connections after maintenance is complete.
                        • Verify remote communications after configuration changes.
