What Connectivity Options Are Available for Detechtion Hardware?
Learn about the communication methods supported by Detechtion hardware, including cellular and satellite connectivity.
Hardware Connectivity
Overview
Detechtion hardware provides multiple communication options to support a wide range of operating environments. Depending on your deployment, hardware can communicate over cellular, satellite, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Modbus connections to enable reliable monitoring, control, and data exchange.
Connectivity Options
Cellular Communication
Detechtion hardware supports cellular communication for both domestic and international deployments. Cellular connectivity allows field equipment to securely transmit operational data to the Detechtion platform where cellular service is available.
Satellite Communication
For remote locations where cellular coverage is limited or unavailable, Detechtion hardware supports satellite communication for both domestic and international deployments, helping maintain connectivity with field assets.
Modbus Connectivity
Detechtion hardware supports Modbus communications using either Serial or Ethernet connections. This allows compatible third-party devices and industrial equipment to exchange data with the Enbase platform.
Ethernet & Wi-Fi
Ethernet and Wi-Fi provide local communication to the Enbase (Detechtion) Hub, allowing users to access the Enbase Hub Control Panel for configuration, maintenance, diagnostics, and local management. Availability of these features depends on the hardware model and deployment.
Best Practices
- Select the communication method that best fits your deployment environment.
- Verify signal strength or network availability before installation.
- Ensure antennas, cables, and connectors are properly installed.
- Follow the applicable installation guide when configuring communication settings.
- Test connectivity after installation to confirm successful communication
Troubleshooting Connectivity Issues
If communication is interrupted, verify power to the hardware, inspect communication cables and antennas, confirm network availability, and review communication settings. If the issue continues, contact Compression Support.
