How Do I Request a Hardware Return or Replacement (RMA)?

Learn when to request an RMA, what information you'll need, and what to expect during the hardware return, repair, or replacement process.

Overview

If you believe your Detechtion hardware requires repair or replacement, Compression Support can help determine whether a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) is required. An RMA allows our team to evaluate hardware issues, coordinate repairs or replacements when appropriate, and ensure the correct hardware is returned.

When Should I Request an RMA?

  • Hardware is physically damaged.
  • The device is no longer functioning after troubleshooting.
  • Hardware has failed in the field.
  • Compression Support has confirmed the hardware requires evaluation or replacement.

In many cases, Compression Support will perform troubleshooting before determining whether an RMA is necessary.

Please have the following information available:

      • Company name
      • Asset or equipment name
      • Hardware model
      • Serial number (if available)
      • Description of the issue
      • Photos of the hardware (if applicable)
      • Troubleshooting steps already completed

                    What Happens Next?

                              • Compression Support reviews your request.
                              • Additional troubleshooting may be requested.
                              • An RMA number may be issued if the hardware requires evaluation.
                              • Return shipping instructions will be provided.
                              • Repair or replacement options will be coordinated when applicable.

Not every hardware issue requires an RMA. Many issues can be resolved remotely.
