How Do I Set Up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

Overview

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) provides an additional layer of security for your Detechtion account. Once MFA is enabled for your company, you'll be required to enter a verification code from an authenticator app each time you log in.

Before You Begin, You Will Need:

  • Your Detechtion username and password
  • A smartphone or tablet
  • An authenticator application installed on your mobile device

        Supported Authenticator Apps

        • Microsoft Authenticator
        • Google Authenticator
        • Other AWS-supported authenticator apps may also work.

              Set Up MFA

              1. Sign in to your Detechtion account using your username and password.
              2. When prompted, you'll see an MFA setup screen containing a QR code and Secret Code.
              3. Open your authenticator app on your mobile device.
              4. Add a new account.
              5. Scan the QR code displayed on your computer.
              6. Your app will generate a 6-digit verification code.
              7. Enter the verification code into the Detechtion login screen.
              8. Select Submit to complete setup.

                              Microsoft Authenticator

                              • Open Microsoft Authenticator.
                              • Select + Add Account.
                              • Choose Work or School Account.
                              • Select Scan QR Code.
                              • Scan the QR code.
                              • Enter the generated verification code into Detechtion.

                                        Google Authenticator

                                        • Open Google Authenticator.
                                        • Select Add Account.
                                        • Choose Scan a QR Code.
                                        • Scan the QR code.
                                        • Enter the generated verification code into Detechtion.

                                                  Need to Set Up MFA Again?

                                                  If your MFA has been reset or you're using a new mobile device, you'll need to scan a new QR code during the setup process. The previous authenticator entry cannot be reused after an MFA reset.
