How to Connect to an Enbase Hub Using Wi Fi
Learn how to connect locally to an Enbase Hub using its built in Wi Fi network, sign in with the proper Enbase permissions, or use Guest access for read only viewing.
The Enbase Hub includes a built in Wi Fi Access Point that allows you to connect directly to the Hub and access the Hub Control Panel locally.
Your level of access is based on your role and permissions in the Enbase Dashboard. If you do not have the appropriate Enbase permissions for the Hub, you cannot sign in with authenticated access through the local Wi Fi connection. You can instead use Guest access for read only viewing.
Connect to the Hub Wi Fi Network
1. Open the Wi Fi settings on your laptop, tablet, or mobile device.
2. Look for the Wi Fi network associated with the Enbase Hub. By default, the network name is based on the Hub's Asset Number.
3. Select the Hub's Wi Fi network.
4. Enter the Wi Fi credentials provided for your organization.
5. Once connected, open a web browser.
6. Navigate to https://hub.detechtion.com.
7. If that address does not resolve, enter https://192.168.2.1 directly.
The Hub Control Panel login page should appear.
Sign In With Your Enbase Account
To sign in as an authenticated user, your Enbase Dashboard account must have the appropriate role and permissions for the Hub. Your access in Hub Control Panel follows the permissions assigned to your account in the Enbase Dashboard.
Note: If you are able to connect to the Hub Wi Fi network but cannot sign in with your Enbase account, confirm that your account has the correct Enbase role and Hub permissions.
Use Guest Access for Read Only Viewing
If you do not have the required role or permissions, or you only need to view Hub information, select Login as Guest on the Hub Control Panel login screen.
Guest access is read only. You can view Hub configuration and monitoring information, but you cannot make configuration changes.
What If There Is No Internet Connection?
A local Wi Fi connection to the Hub does not require internet access. However, authenticated login may require authorization from the Enbase Dashboard. If you know you will be working without internet or cellular connectivity and need authenticated access, obtain the required connection token before going to the field.
Having Trouble Connecting?
Confirm the following before contacting Enbase Support:
- Your device is connected to the correct Hub Wi Fi network
- You are using the correct Wi Fi credentials
- You have tried the direct Hub IP address if the hostname does not load
- Your Enbase Dashboard account has the appropriate role and permissions if you are attempting authenticated access
- If authenticated access is not required, try Login as Guest for read only access
If you are still unable to access the Hub Control Panel, contact Enbase Support and provide the asset or Hub name along with the error or behavior you are seeing.
