How to Enter Compressor Field Data in Enalysis
Learn how to find a compressor, enter field data in Enalysis, review data entry errors and warnings, and generate an Enalysis report.
Once compressor field data has been collected, you can enter the operating information in Enalysis to generate a new Enalysis report for the asset. Enalysis also supports entry of driver and downtime data from the same general workflow.
How do I enter compressor field data in Enalysis?
- Log in to Enalysis with your assigned username and password.
- Search for or select the compressor you want to update. Assets can be searched by Detechtion or client compressor number, compressor name, or location, including station, field, and area.
- Open the Enter Data menu from the asset search area or the Asset toolbar.
- Select Enter Field Data.
- Enter the compressor operating data for the asset.
- Review any errors or warnings shown during data entry and correct or confirm the values as needed.
- Select Complete to generate the Enalysis report.
After the report is generated, it can be viewed in Enalysis. An email summary may also be sent to users based on the email preferences configured in their Enalysis user profile.
What should I know about the data entry screen?
The Enalysis data entry pages use a tabbed, wizard style interface designed to guide users through compressor, driver, and downtime information. The source material states that the workflow can be used from mobile devices, laptops, and desktop computers.
- Compressor only: You can save the compressor data without continuing into other data entry sections.
- Continue with additional data: You can continue into driver or downtime data as part of the same workflow.
- Editable entries: Data that you enter can be reviewed and corrected if you identify a mistake.
What do red errors and yellow warnings mean?
Enalysis uses inline validation to identify possible data entry issues while you are entering information.
- Red errors: The value must be corrected before you can proceed.
- Yellow warnings: The value should be reviewed before you proceed.
What data is required for a reciprocating compressor?
The source material identifies the following dynamic values as mandatory to generate an Enalysis report for a reciprocating compressor:
- Report date and time
- Operator name
- Compressor speed (RPM)
- Per stage: suction temperature, suction pressure, and discharge pressure
- Per cylinder: discharge temperature
For higher stages, the source material notes that suction pressure can be set equal to the previous stage discharge pressure when an interstage suction pressure is not available.
Enalysis may auto fill common cylinder temperatures and pressures for cylinders on the same stage. Review auto filled values and change them if they do not accurately represent the asset.
What data is required for a rotary screw compressor?
The source material identifies the following dynamic values as mandatory to generate an Enalysis report for a rotary screw compressor:
- Report date and time
- Operator name
- Compressor speed (RPM)
- Suction temperature
- Discharge temperature
- Suction pressure
- Discharge pressure
- Slide valve position
- Vi position or port setting, unless fixed
- Oil injection temperature
What additional field data can add value to the report?
Additional information is recommended when it is available because it can provide more context for the Enalysis report. Depending on compressor type, examples include:
- Runtime hours
- Compressor flow or station flow
- Station inlet pressure
- Bypass open position
- Suction control valve open position
- Engine boost or inlet manifold pressure
- Coalescing filter differential pressure for rotary screw compressors
- Oil filter differential pressure for rotary screw compressors
When do I need to update reciprocating compressor configuration?
For reciprocating compressors, cylinder action and added clearance should be recorded with the first set of field data and updated after a configuration change. This can include the pocket or VVCP position and any added valve spacers.
After the first report, the source material states that this information can auto populate for future data entry and only needs to be updated when the clearance configuration changes.
Can I record maintenance information during data entry?
Yes. The predictive maintenance section can be used to record completed maintenance such as an engine or compressor overhaul or an oil change. If no applicable maintenance has been completed, the section can be left blank.
When maintenance has occurred, record the applicable date and time or runtime hours since the maintenance was completed.
Can I enter driver and downtime data?
Yes. Driver data can be entered as part of the compressor data entry process or opened separately from the Enter Data menu. Less frequently used driver sections can be expanded when needed.
Downtime data can also be entered through Enalysis using the same general data entry workflow.
Can field data be entered when there is limited mobile service?
The source material describes Fieldlink as an alternative method for collecting compressor field data in locations with limited mobile service. Data can be entered in the Fieldlink app while offline and synchronized after connectivity is restored. Field data entered through Fieldlink is then uploaded to Enalysis.
Contact your Detechtion Engineering Account Manager to confirm whether Fieldlink is available and appropriate for your organization.
Can compressor field data be automated?
The source material states that Enalysis can accept automated field data reports when all required data points are monitored through digital telemetry. The documented method uses an FTP file push from the customer to Enalysis and requires all mandatory data points, including interstage suction temperatures where applicable.
Contact your Detechtion Engineering Account Manager to discuss whether automated reporting is supported for your environment.
