How to Investigate a Compressor That Keeps Going Offline

Follow a OneView workflow for investigating a compressor with recurring offline events using performance metrics, downtime history, root cause analysis, and trend data.

If a compressor repeatedly appears Offline, OneView can help you review how often it is happening, what downtime reasons have been recorded, and what the asset was doing around individual shutdowns.

Step 1: Open the Asset

1. From Fleet Overview, search for the compressor by Asset Number or Lease Name.

2. Open the Asset Detail page.

Step 2: Review the Performance Summary

Check Runtime and Downtime Events for the recent 30 day period. This gives you a quick sense of how frequently the compressor has been down.

Step 3: Review Downtime Analysis

Open Downtime Analysis to review the compressor's 12 month history, monthly availability, top downtime reasons, and individual downtime events.

Step 4: Investigate a Specific Shutdown

1. Open Root Cause Analysis.

2. Select a shutdown event.

3. Review recent alarms and downtime context.

4. Run Explain this shutdown if you want an AI assisted summary.

5. Review the Measurements panel around the event.

Step 5: Trend Related Measurements

Use Asset Vitals and Trends to review the measurements most relevant to the issue over the time period you are investigating.
