How to Set Up Enalysis Report Email Notifications
Learn how to configure Enalysis report email notifications, including scheduled reports, warning and severe alerts, manually generated reports, and field or area preferences.
Enalysis can send email notifications when reports are generated so you can stay informed about compressor performance and conditions that may require attention. Your notification preferences can be adjusted based on your role, the assets you are responsible for, and how frequently you want to receive reports.
Configuring your preferences can help make sure you receive important warning and severe reports without receiving unnecessary notifications for compressors outside your responsibility.
How do I access my email notification settings?
The source training material provided for this article shows email notification settings being managed through Legacy Enalysis.
- If you are using Enalysis V5, select Back to Legacy Enalysis.
- In Legacy Enalysis, select your name in the top right toolbar to open your user profile.
- Select the Email tab.
- Review and update the notification options based on your role and responsibilities.
What types of email notifications can I configure?
Enalysis provides several options for controlling when report emails are sent.
- Scheduled Enalysis Reports: Receive a batch of the latest SCADA generated reports at a specific time or on a specific day.
- Cash Flow Risk and Warning Reports: Receive reports when they meet configured Cash Flow Risk or warning level criteria.
- Manually Generated Enalysis Reports: Receive reports that are created manually, even when they do not meet your normal email thresholds.
- Field and Area Notifications: Control which areas and fields are included in your report notifications.
How do scheduled Enalysis reports work?
Scheduled reports allow you to receive a batch of the latest SCADA generated reports at a specific time or day of the week. When this option is enabled, you can specify the time zone, frequency, day, and time.
Scheduled reporting can be useful for users who need a high level overview of the state of their compression fleet rather than immediate notification each time a qualifying report is generated.
How do Cash Flow Risk and warning notifications work?
Cash Flow Risk and warning notifications can send reports as they are generated. The source material describes these settings as an OR condition, meaning a report can trigger an email based on the Cash Flow Risk setting or the Priority Status setting.
Cash Flow Risk options
- None: No emails are triggered based on the Cash Flow Risk value.
- CFR greater than a selected value: Reports that exceed the selected Cash Flow Risk value trigger an email.
- All Reports: All Enalysis reports trigger an email for the user.
Priority Status options
- Warning Emails Off: No emails are triggered based on warning level.
- Red Warnings: Reports containing a severe flag trigger an email.
- All Warnings: Reports containing a severe or warning flag trigger an email.
What notification settings does Detechtion recommend?
For users responsible for the day to day health of one or more compressors, the source material recommends the following settings:
- CFR Greater Than: None
- Priority Status: All Warnings, including red severe and yellow warning flags
These settings are intended to send notifications when a report contains a yellow warning or red severe flag. The source example limits qualifying notifications to a maximum of one report per unit every 24 hours. For users responsible for the daily health of compressors, Detechtion recommends a maximum notification interval of 6 hours.
Should I receive manually generated reports?
Enable the manually generated report option if you want to receive every report that is manually created. This can be useful when most compressors report automatically but a manual report is occasionally entered to troubleshoot a specific issue.
When this option is enabled, manually generated reports override the email threshold settings described above, so you receive the manual report when it is generated.
How do field and area notifications work?
By default, email notifications are based on the compressors assigned to your user profile. Field and area notification settings allow you to control the specific areas and fields from which you want to receive report emails.
Review these settings if you are receiving notifications for compressors that are not part of your responsibility or if you are not receiving reports for assets you are expected to monitor.
What should I check if I am receiving too many or too few emails?
- Confirm that your warning and Cash Flow Risk thresholds match your responsibilities.
- Review the maximum reporting frequency for qualifying reports.
- Check whether manually generated reports are enabled.
- Review your field and area notification preferences.
- Confirm that the correct compressors are assigned to your user profile.
