How to Set Warning and Shutdown Setpoints in Enbase
Learn how authorized users can review and update analog warning and shutdown setpoints in the Enbase Compressor Control Panel and what to check before saving changes
Analog inputs in the Enbase Compressor Control Panel can use setpoints to identify warning and shutdown conditions. These values are part of the compressor protection configuration, so they should only be changed by an authorized user who knows the approved operating limits for the equipment.
Before You Change a Setpoint
Before making a change, confirm the approved value for the specific Tag and verify the engineering unit shown for that Tag. Setpoint changes take effect immediately after they are saved.
- Confirm you are working with the correct asset and Tag.
- Verify the approved warning or shutdown value for the equipment.
- Confirm the Tag unit of measure before entering a new value.
- Make changes only if you are authorized to modify compressor protection settings.
How to Change a Setpoint
- Open the Hub Control Panel and go to the Compressor Controller Home Page.
- Locate the analog Tag whose setpoint needs to be changed.
- Select the Tag to open the Setpoint Editor.
- Change the desired setpoint or setpoints.
- Review the new value and confirm it is appropriate for the Tag and its unit of measure.
- Select Save. The change takes effect immediately.
- After the change, verify and test the panel according to your company and site procedures before returning the equipment to normal operation.
Understanding Shutdown Setpoints
Safety Shutdown Tags can include low and high shutdown thresholds. In the Compressor Controller configuration, LoLo represents the low safety shutdown setpoint and HiHi represents the high safety shutdown setpoint.
The setpoints available for a Tag depend on how that analog input has been configured. Do not assume that another asset or similar Tag should use the same values.
When to Contact Enbase Support
Contact Enbase Support before making a change if you are unsure of the approved threshold, the correct Tag, or the effect the change will have on compressor operation. The panel should be thoroughly tested after configuration changes.
- A setpoint does not match the expected operating range.
- The compressor shuts down unexpectedly after a change.
- You need to add a new Safety Shutdown Tag.
- You are unsure how to validate the panel after a configuration change.
