How to View and Trend Tag Data in Enbase

Learn how to use the Enbase HCP and Enbase Dashboard Trending Tool to view live and historical Tag data, compare multiple Tags, and export historical data.

The Hub Control Panel includes a Trending Tool that lets you review how Tag values change over time. You can use it for live monitoring or to investigate historical asset behavior.

Open the Trending Tool

1. In Hub Control Panel and go to the Monitoring area.

2. In Enbase Dashboard, find your asset and select the gauge view or chart view.

2. Locate the Tag you want to investigate in Dashboard View or Grid View.

3. From Dashboard View, select the Zoom option on the Tag gauge. In Grid View, select the Tag name to open the Trending Tool.

 View Live Data

1. In HCP, you can select the Date Range to Live.

2. Select the Tags you want to compare.

3. Select Plot Selected to display the Tags on the chart.

The Trending Tool supports plotting up to four Tags at the same time.

 View Historical Data

1. In Enbase Dashboard or Enbase HCP, you can choose a historical Date Range instead of Live.

2. Select the desired grouping and function for the historical data.

3. If you want to see the raw historical values, select None for grouping.

4. Select up to four Tags and choose Plot Selected.

Work With the Chart

You can zoom into the chart to investigate a smaller time range or adjust the visible scale. You can also collapse the selection panel to provide more room for the chart.

View Historical Data in a Grid

When viewing historical data, select the Grid option to display the values in a grid instead of a chart.

Export Historical Data

From the historical Grid view, select Export to generate data that can be opened in Excel.

Using Trends for Troubleshooting

Trending multiple related Tags can help you compare what was happening before, during, and after an alarm or operating change. For additional context, review Alarm History and System Events for the same time period.
