Understanding Alarms in OneView
Learn what alarm information is available on an asset in OneView, including alarm time, tag, limit type, and acknowledgment status.
The Alarms tab on an Asset Detail page provides an alarm log for the selected compressor when alarm data is available.
What the Alarm Log Shows
- Timestamp
- Tag or measurement name
- Limit type such as Hi, HiHi, Lo, or LoLo
- Acknowledgment status
How Alarm Limits Relate to Asset Status
OneView uses alarm limit information as part of its fleet status. A HiHi or LoLo alarm can result in a Danger status. A Hi or Lo alarm can result in an Alerted status. These limits are configured per compressor.
Why Is the Alarms Tab Unavailable or Grayed Out?
If the Alarms tab is unavailable, alarm information may not be available for that asset. The supplied OneView training material notes that this can occur when alarms are not enabled for the asset or when there is not enough alarm history to populate the tab.
When to Contact Support
If you expect alarms to be available for a compressor but the Alarms tab remains unavailable, contact Detechtion Support or your account team to confirm the asset configuration.
