Understanding Enbase Steady-State Control

Learn how Enbase steady state control manages compressor operation after startup using PID, linear ramp, valve, speed, and Dynamic Package Control strategies.

In the Enbase Compressor Control Panel, startup and shutdown logic is considered transient control. Once the compressor reaches the Running state, one or more steady state control algorithms can manage ongoing operation.

What Can Steady-State Control Manage?

Depending on the application, steady state control can manage Driver Speed, Cooler Speed, Recycle Valve position, Suction Valve position, Louver positions, and other controlled outputs.

Available Control Approaches

  • General PID Control using the PID Controller Function
  • Driver Speed PID control using multiple process parameters
  • Driver Speed Linear Ramp control
  • Compressor Low Capacity Controller using driver speed and recycle valve control
  • Compressor Suction Controller using a PID loop with setpoint scheduling to control Suction Valve position
  • Dynamic Package Control using a Digital Twin model and many compressor and driver variables to control Driver Speed, Recycle Valve, and Suction Valve

Why Configuration Is Application Specific

Steady state control interacts directly with compressor operating targets and physical outputs. The correct control strategy depends on the compressor, driver, available measurements, and operating goals.
