Understanding Enbase Timers

Learn about the Advanced Enbase timer Functions, including Off Delay, On Delay, Retentive On Delay, and Timed Pulse timers.

The Enbase Function Library includes several Advanced timer Functions that provide timing behavior similar to common PLC timer instructions.

Off Delay Timer

The Off Delay Timer implements a PLC style TOF timer. It uses a Timer Preset in seconds and a Trigger input and returns a Done value that indicates timer expiration status.

On Delay Timer

The On Delay Timer implements a PLC style TON timer using a Timer Preset and Trigger input.

Retentive On Delay Timer

The Retentive On Delay Timer implements a PLC style RTO timer and includes a Reset input in addition to the Timer Preset and Trigger.

Timed Pulse Timer

The Timed Pulse Timer implements a PLC style timed pulse. It uses a Timer Preset and Trigger and includes an optional Extended Timer setting that controls whether an unexpired timer can be reset when the Trigger changes.
