Understanding Exclusion Zones in Enbase
Learn how the Advanced Exclusion Zones Function prevents a target value from remaining within configured operating ranges.
Exclusion Zones is an Advanced Enbase Function that prevents a Target Value from remaining inside one or more configured exclusion ranges.
How Exclusion Zones Work
If the Target Value is outside all configured zones, the Function returns the Target Value. If the Target Value falls inside an exclusion zone, the result is moved to the closest endpoint of that range.
Common Use
The Function Library identifies engine speed control as a primary use case, where exclusion zones can be used to avoid certain operating RPM ranges.
Enabled Input
The Function includes an Enabled input. It can be temporarily disabled while an output is ramping toward steady state and enabled after steady state is reached.
Zone Definition
Each exclusion zone is defined by a minimum and maximum value.
Configuration Assistance
Exclusion Zones can directly change equipment operating targets. Contact Enbase Support before adding or changing exclusion ranges used in active equipment control.
