Understanding Hardware Warranties and the RMA Process

Learn how Detechtion's hardware warranty works, when an RMA is needed, and what to expect during the repair or replacement process.

Overview

Detechtion stands behind the quality of its hardware products. If you experience a hardware issue, our Support Team will work with you to troubleshoot the problem, determine whether the issue is covered under warranty, and, if needed, begin the Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) process.

Hardware Warranty

Detechtion-designed and manufactured hardware includes a limited warranty for 12 months from the date the equipment is delivered. If you purchase ongoing Detechtion support services, warranty coverage continues for the duration of your paid support term.

If a covered hardware defect is confirmed during the applicable warranty period, Detechtion will, at its discretion, repair or replace the defective hardware.

For hardware or installation materials manufactured by third parties, warranty coverage is provided by the original manufacturer. Detechtion will help facilitate the warranty process when applicable.

To receive warranty service, warranty claims must be submitted to Detechtion before the applicable warranty period expires.

 What Is Not Covered?

The warranty does not apply if hardware damage or failure results from:

• Installation or use that does not follow Detechtion documentation or instructions.

• Unauthorized modifications or repairs.

• Use with unsupported hardware, software, or configurations.

• Improper maintenance or servicing by non-approved personnel.

• Accidents, environmental events, misuse, or operation outside normal specifications.

• Failure to maintain required third-party hardware or software.

Normal wear and tear, customer-caused damage, and conditions outside the warranty terms are not covered.

What Is an RMA?

A Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) is the process used to return hardware to Detechtion for evaluation, repair, or replacement. An approved RMA helps ensure returned equipment is tracked and processed efficiently.

When Is an RMA Needed?

An RMA may be required when:

• Hardware is no longer functioning as expected.

• A component is suspected to be defective.

• Troubleshooting indicates the hardware should be evaluated by Detechtion.

• Our Support Team determines that repair or replacement is appropriate.

In many cases, troubleshooting can resolve the issue without returning hardware.

Before Returning Hardware

Before hardware can be returned, our Support Team may request information such as:

  • Company name
  • Product name
  • Serial number
  • Description of the issue
  • Troubleshooting steps already completed

Providing this information helps us process your request as efficiently as possible.

What Happens After an RMA Is Approved?

            1. You'll receive return instructions.
            2. Detechtion will inspect and evaluate the hardware.
            3. We'll determine whether the unit will be repaired, replaced, or if another resolution is appropriate.
            4. We'll keep you informed throughout the process.

Processing times may vary depending on the hardware, repair requirements, and parts availability.
