Understanding Historical Totals in Enbase
Learn how the Historical Total Function calculates the amount tracked by an Enbase Totalizer Tag over a selected time span.
Historical Total is a Basic Enbase Function that calculates the total count or amount tracked by a Totalizer Tag over a specified period of time.
What the Function Uses
- Totalizer Tag that maintains the count or amount being tracked
- Direction, configured as Increasing or Decreasing
- Time Span, specified in minutes
Function Output
The result is the total count or amount for the selected time span.
When Historical Total Is Useful
Historical Total is useful when a Tag maintains a cumulative value and you need to determine how much that value changed over a defined period rather than only viewing the current total.
Important Considerations
The Function depends on the correct Totalizer Tag and Direction. If the source Tag is not tracking the expected quantity or direction, the Historical Total result may not represent the intended measurement.
