Understanding Hub Access & Permissions
Learn how Enbase Hub access levels and permissions help protect system settings while allowing users to monitor, troubleshoot, and manage Hub operations.
The Enbase Hub supports multiple access methods to help protect device configuration while allowing users to monitor system health and perform troubleshooting when appropriate.
Depending on your role and permissions, you may have the ability to view information, make configuration changes, or access the Hub in read-only mode.
Types of Hub Access
Enbase Dashboard Access
Users with an Enbase account can access the Enbase Dashboard to monitor connected devices and, when granted the appropriate permissions, manage Hub configuration.
Available features depend on the user's assigned role and permissions.
Hub Control Panel
The Enbase Hub Control Panel provides direct access to the Hub over a local Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection.
Authorized users can use the Control Panel to:
- Review diagnostics
- Configure communication settings
- Update configuration
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting
- Verify device operation
Access to configuration features may require appropriate permissions.
Guest Access (Read-Only)
The Hub also supports Guest Access for users who need to inspect the system without making changes.
Guest users can:
- View Hub information
- Review diagnostics
- Verify communication status
- Inspect configuration
Guest Access is read-only and does not allow configuration changes.
Roles & Permissions
To help protect system integrity, configuration changes are restricted to users with the appropriate permissions.
Depending on your assigned role, you may be able to:
- View device information
- Monitor system health
- Review diagnostics
- Modify Hub configuration
- Manage communication settings
- Perform administrative tasks
If you do not have sufficient permissions, some features may be unavailable.
Why Permissions Matter
- Protect critical system settings
- Prevent unintended configuration changes
- Maintain system reliability
- Improve operational security
- Ensure only authorized users can modify device settings
Best Practices
- Only grant configuration access to authorized personnel.
- Use Guest Access when configuration changes are not required.
- Follow your organization's security policies for user access.
- Contact your Enbase administrator if additional permissions are needed.
