Understanding Hydrostatic Liquid Level in Enbase

Learn how the Hydrostatic Liquid Level Function converts a water column measurement using specific gravity and optional smoothing and calibration.

Hydrostatic Liquid Level is a Basic Enbase Function used to convert a liquid level measurement expressed in units of water column into units of the measured medium.

How the Calculation Works

The Function uses the incoming water column level and the Specific Gravity of the medium to calculate the liquid level in units of that medium.

Available Inputs

  • Level in units of Water Column
  • Specific Gravity of the medium
  • Optional Smoothing Window Size for moving average smoothing
  • Optional Field Calibration Offset to account for differences between sensor location and the container bottom

Function Output

The output is the calculated liquid level in units of the medium with the configured Field Calibration Offset applied. The Function can also emit the smoothed level as a System Metric.

When to Contact Enbase Support

Contact Enbase Support if the calculated level does not match the expected physical level or if you need help determining the appropriate Specific Gravity, smoothing, or calibration settings for your installation.
