Understanding No Data Severity in OneView

Learn how OneView uses silent duration and communications availability to help prioritize assets that have stopped reporting data.

The No Data Report uses Severity to help operators prioritize compressors that have stopped reporting telemetry.

How Severity Changes

The supplied OneView quick reference describes severity as generally escalating with the amount of time an asset has been silent:

  • Around 24 hours: Low
  • 7 to 30 days: Medium
  • 30 days or more: Critical

The full training manual also emphasizes Communications Availability as useful context when judging the seriousness of a reporting gap.

What Is Silent For?

Silent For is the amount of time since the asset last reported telemetry.

What Is Communications Availability?

Communications Availability is the percentage of time the monitoring device has been reporting data as expected.

How to Prioritize No Data Assets

1. Open No Data Report.

2. Sort or review assets by Silent For.

3. Start with the longest silent assets.

4. Review Communications Availability for each asset.

5. Use Severity as an additional prioritization signal.

6. Contact Support when the reporting gap appears persistent or significant.
