Understanding Pump Stroke Counting in Enbase

Learn how Enbase Pump Stroke Counter detects positive displacement pump strokes and maintains a running stroke count.

Pump Stroke Counter is a Basic Enbase Function that maintains a running total of strokes detected from a positive displacement pump.

How Strokes Are Detected

The Function evaluates an input signal generated by the pump stroking action or by a proximity sensor. A configured Digitizing Threshold is used to identify individual strokes.

Pump Stroke Counter Inputs

  • Input Signal from a hydrostatic pressure sensor or proximity sensor
  • Digitizing Threshold used for stroke detection
  • Moving Average Window Size used to establish a baseline for digitization

Function Output

The Function returns a running Total Stroke Count.

Pump Stroke Counter Calibrator

The Function Library also includes a Basic Pump Stroke Counter Calibrator. The calibrator examines dips in the input signal to calculate a digitization threshold and supports calibration and manual threshold options.

If the Stroke Count Looks Incorrect

If Enbase is missing strokes or counting extra strokes, review the input signal and threshold configuration. Contact Enbase Support if you need assistance with calibration or signal quality.
