What Is the Enbase Function Library?
Learn what the Enbase Function Library is, how Functions work with Tags, and how prebuilt logic extends Enbase monitoring and automation.
The Enbase Function Library is a collection of prebuilt Functions that extend what an Enbase Tag can do. Functions can perform calculations, transform values, evaluate conditions, track equipment status, count events, control outputs, and support other automation tasks.
How Functions Work With Tags
Functions are attached to Tags. A Function can use the value of the Tag it is attached to or values from other Tags that are provided as inputs.
- A Calculated Tag gets its value entirely from the result of a Function.
- A Tag with a Function receives a value from a data source and then uses the Function to transform or scale that value before it is stored.
What Types of Functions Are Available?
The library includes Functions for equipment run status, mathematical operations, conditional logic, timers, counters, historical calculations, signal processing, output control, and other specialized use cases.
Basic and Advanced Functions
Functions are divided into Basic and Advanced tiers. Basic Functions are available by default. Advanced Functions require a higher Hub subscription level.
When to Contact Enbase Support
Contact Enbase Support if you need help selecting a Function, binding the correct inputs, understanding unexpected results, or configuring a Function that can affect equipment control.
